Rebecca Smith

Ph.D. Student, Rice University

I am a fifth-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer Science at Rice University and a member of the Rice Computer Architecture Group, working under the advisement of Prof. Scott Rixner. My work was previously funded by a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and a Ken Kennedy Institute Computational Science and Engineering Fellowship.

My primary research interests are twofold. First, I'm interested in CS education, with a focus on developing automated tools to facilitate learning in large introductory courses. Second, I'm interested in computer systems, and am especially excited about tackling research problems that arise at the intersection of system boundaries.
